Open the counterparty’s profile and read every review, on both sides. A profile with several completed exchanges and consistent feedback is worth far more than a promise in a chat.
A mutual exchange means both sides hand over cash at the same time, in person. Any request to send funds ahead — by transfer, crypto, or a gift card — is the single most common shape of a scam.
Choose a busy, well-lit public place with cameras: a bank branch, a shopping centre, a hotel lobby. Do not invite a stranger home and do not go to theirs.
For larger amounts, do not go alone, and tell someone you trust where you are going and who you are meeting.
Count the cash on the spot, before either side leaves. Check the notes for authenticity — counterfeits are the second most common problem after non-payment.
Rate, exact amounts, currency, place and time — settle it in the chat before you meet, so there is nothing to reinterpret afterwards.
Leave an honest review — it is the mechanism that protects the next person. If you believe a crime has been committed, contact your local police: the platform has no enforcement powers.
